    Welcome to Sandlot Sundays, a site designed to keep  readers informed about a book that highlights the second generation of the Charles-St. Mary's Baseball League - a local Southern Maryland amateur men's league that has flourished in the area since 1947.

     The book, also titled "Sandlot Sundays," is written by Rob Adams and offers several different looks into the essence of the league.  

     A previous book, A Sandlot Saga, written by William "Doc" Close, documented the foundation of the league, its governance, and a glimpse into league action from 1947 to 1985. 

     Sandlot Sundays not  only picks up the torch to further document the league with particular emphasis on the 1986-2007 period, but it also expands previous efforts to give a fuller, more complete look into the records and archives of all seasons, 1947 to 2007.  

     With a combination of history, stories and recollections, photographs, and records, Sandlot Sundays can be enjoyed by all league participants and followers, past and present.  The extensive coverage within the book should prove it to become an official reference piece for  the historic Charles-St. Mary's Baseball League.
